What is a Plan Manager?

Plan Management

A NDIS Plan Manager is a service provider who can help you manage your NDIS funds. NDIS Plan Managers are responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of your NDIS plan, including paying your service providers and tracking your NDIS funds.

NDIS Plan Managers can help you manage your NDIS funds in a number of ways, including:

  • Paying your service providers on your behalf: NDIS Plan Managers can pay your service providers directly, so you don't have to worry about managing invoices and payments.

  • Tracking your NDIS funds: NDIS Plan Managers can help you keep track of your NDIS funds, so you know how much you have available to spend on the support and services you need.

  • NDIS Plan Managers can provide advice on how to best manage your NDIS funds and ensure you are getting the most out of your NDIS plan.

NDIS Plan Managers can be a useful resource for people with disability who need help managing their NDIS funds and coordinating their support. If you are interested in using a NDIS Plan Manager, you can discuss the option with your NDIS planner or support coordinator. They will be able to provide more information on how NDIS Plan Managers can help you and how to access this service.

Do I have to pay the Plan Manager?

If you choose to have a Plan Manager manage your NDIS plan, the Plan Manager's fee will not come out of your direct funding. Instead, the NDIS will add the Plan Management fee to the side of your NDIS plan. This means that you will not have to use your own NDIS funds to pay for the Plan Manager's services.

Plan Managers are paid a one-time set up fee of $232.35 per NDIS plan, as well as a monthly fee of $104.45. These fees will be paid by the NDIS directly, and will not impact the amount of funding you have available for the support and services you need. *These prices are accurate at the time of writing this blog, but may change with the change of the NDIS price guidelines.

Can I change Plan Managers during my plan?

Yes, you can change Plan Managers during your NDIS plan. The NDIS is a person-centered approach, which means that you have control over the support and services you receive. This includes being able to choose the Plan Manager you want to work with.

If you are not happy with your current Plan Manager or want to switch to a different Plan Manager, you can do so at any time during your NDIS plan. To change Plan Managers, you will need to contact your current Plan Manager and let them know you would like to end your agreement with them. You will then need to contact the new Plan Manager you want to switch to and arrange for them to take over managing your NDIS funds.

It is important to remember that changing Plan Managers can take time and may involve some disruptions to your support and services. It is a good idea to plan ahead and discuss your decision with your NDIS planner or support coordinator before making a change. They can provide guidance and advice on how to make the transition as smooth as possible.
